Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard has backed Brazil midfielder Philippe Coutinho to move to the next level after being signed on a permanent basis.
The playmaker has agreed a four-year contract at Villa Park following a £17million move from Barcelona on a permanent basis.
He was loaned out in January and has scored four goals in 16 appearances. With UFABET Gerrard believes the right feeling has helped Coutinho improve.
“For him to stay here permanently and adapt, he will take it to the next level because of the feeling of knowing where he will play football in the next four years, which will help him adapt,” Gerrard said.
“He’s a player that needs feelings. He needs a feeling of support. Everyone involved – me, the staff, the supporters and most importantly the owners, Christian Purslow and Johan Lange – made him feel special.”
“That’s where the decision came from. He felt happy here. And it’s amazing that he wants to be a part of this journey.”
“We are very pleased with this news. I knew a little bit before the announcement. And I think it’s amazing news for everyone involved with the club. The most important thing is the fans.”
“The reaction was very positive. Because you have seen that in the last 5 months he has been playing very well. He still has a lot left in our minds.”
