Luka Modric has proven his worth as a Real Madrid player during his 12-year spell at the Bernabeu. With Roy Keane admitting he underestimated the Croatian football midfielder.

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has admitted on ITV Football. That he initially underestimated Luka Modric when the Croatian joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2012. 

Modric has joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur on a five-year deal. With pundits hailing the Croatian midfielder as one of the worst signings of the season, with Keane among them. But he played 53 times in all competitions for Los Blancos in his first season UFABET 

Over time, Modric has proven his worth, winning four La Liga titles, six Champions Leagues and the 2018 Ballon d’Or. Over the past 12 seasons, the Croatian midfielder has made a combined 534 appearances. And, at the age of 38 is now close to signing a new deal with the club. 

Considering Modric’s impact on the club. Keane has spoken about how the Croatian midfielder’s consistency and flexibility are key to his success.

‘When Modric went to Real Madrid I wrote him off. I always knew he was a good player. But not this good. He was amazing, he came back week in and week out.’
